2009 Indy Waterballoon Fight

Project 18

In the kids zone this year we will have the Project 18 area.
The Project 18 is a statewide program to address childhood obesity in Indiana, with curriculum that has been designed for schools to teach healthy lifestyles to students and their families. The campaign focuses on enriching Indiana youth through both nutritional and physical programs, and is offered free to educators willing to teach the prepared lesson plans. These weekly lesson plans include “Portion Distortion,” “Fruits and Vegetables” and “Stretching and Strength,” for example. The Project 18 mobile unit for community events will include: educational materials on nutrition and fitness, a life-size plexiglass Peyton Manning that speaks, a “fat belt” to teach what it feels to add 5 pounds, etc.

Along with a fun and interactive kids zone this also gives our event a educational side by addressing childhood obesity.
